Doctor Ivo Robotnik
Eggman Reviews - Sonic 4 Episode II.

I know what you all must be thinking. “Who in the hell does Eggman think he is, reviewing video games all of a sudden? What are his qualifications? I want someone professional, damnit!” Sorry to say, every other website you’ll go to will no doubt be giving scandalously low reviews to a game that frankly doesn’t quite deserve it.

Yes I’m a Sonic fan. Does that make me biased? No. I will admit when I think a game sucks. Glitchy, atrocious looking games that have a bad/no story, horrible characters, and most importantly bad gameplay, I will voice my opinion. But that’s all really reviews are, aren’t they? Glorified opinions.

Now, onward with the substance itself. The game thus far has been brilliant; vibrant colors that stand out when needed, combination moves with Tails that actually serve a function but aren’t always necessary, and updated music ques for even the fights with yours truly. The game plays very similarly to Episode I, not many differences being noted on my first run through when compared to it’s predecessor. The level designs accent past Sonic games well with no over-abundance of one thing compared to another where graphically, the second entry in the series surpasses expectations when bringing these environments to life.

Even the damn Flickies look better than before.

Some people commented on how Episode I blandly rehashes many past boss battles. I agree entirely. And it seemed Episode II was going to repeat this trend in the very first boss battle: I guarantee you, you’ll be very surprised to see how wrong you are. From what I already experienced, I don’t think originality will be an issue here.

My only true complaint would be the music of the special stages. It gets repetitive easily, especially seeing how you’ll be entering those special stages multiple times in a desperate bid to secure another emerald for your collection.

For now, that’s all my comments on the matter. I got more red rings to find.

Sonic Unleashed “Opening” Music

-G.U.NPoint- ((Part 1.))

-4:30 PM. Central City, United Federation Grand court.-

Eggman squinted as he was shoved into a brightly lit circular chamber, the walls adorned with rows upon rows of mahogany benches along with one tall stand at the end of the room for the judge. The aforementioned judge was oddly enough already present; by Eggman’s calculations, he was fair on into his later-life showing by his large amounts of gray hair, single by his lack of wedding ring and any marks on the skin to show prolonged wearing of such a thing, and his near-spotless suit combined with the rigid posture hinted him as an uptight individual. It would be fun to toy with his mind.
A guard hastily shoved Eggman towards the center of the room where a lone table sat with a wooden chair behind it. Eggman was already cuffed, making the probability of any tricks at this point near impossible. He made sure to smile to the jury before sitting, their looks of confusion and rage only fueling his good mood further.

There was no bailiff, but instead what seemed to be several notable higher-ups amongst G.U.N’s chain of command. The likelihood of a fair trial was growing slimmer and slimmer as Eggman absorbed his surroundings. But hey, bright side of it all?

There was no blue hedgehog in sight. He doubted Sonic even knew this was happening.

The judge stood. “Julian Iv-” “Eggman, if you would be so kind.” the doctor interrupted. The judge looked down at Eggman with a great deal of anger over such a petty interruption yet proceeded undeterred. “Julian Ivo Gerald Robotnik. You’re here on the case of the United Federation Vs ‘the Eggman Empire’. You have been found guilty of crimes against humanity, conspiracy, attempted murder, near-genocide, assault, theft amongst many other undocumented crimes.”

Eggman simply nodded, not even bothering to protest at this point. It was moments like these he wished he could actually get his hands on a decent lawyer.

The judge’s expression continuously shifted from being mildly calm to rage, watching as Eggman smugly smiled to those around him.
“…Your punishment equals up to several life sentences and death by firing squad. Just like your grandfa-“
“A brilliant man. One that saved your life more times then you can count. If you can even count at all, that is.” Eggman’s expression didn’t change. The judge on the other hand happened to turn a deep red, slamming his gavel down at least four times before shooting a glare at one of the nearby commanders, who merely shrugged in response.

After several seconds of awkward silence and glares, the judge once more continued. “All assets to Eggman Enterprises have been frozen, and a further investigation is under way. You are to be placed in a maximum security prison until a date for your execution can be decided.”

“I’m thrilled.” Everything was going according to plan.

Journal Entry 19; Random musings, some other concerns.

When in my line of profession, you’ll quickly learn a very important thing about people; most of them will refuse to look at things your way. To understand your motives and reasoning. Sure there are some out there who don’t deserve such compassion I admit, those who simply wish to set the world ablaze and watch as people plea for mercy. Then there are those who do what they do with a purpose, a goal. One that to most is “evil” or wrong. It grows quite tiresome to the nerves really.
It was with that in mind that often pushed me to do the less savory things in my lifetime. Dark Gaia, for example; thousands of lives lost. But that brings a new set of problems to the table. Do the ends justify the means? Must you first destroy the world to rebuild it, or let it crumble of it’s own accord? Dark Gaia was without a doubt the riskiest of my plans, yet it was also the closest to success, albeit briefly.

My musings aside, Finitevus has been concerning me lately. He’s been acting odd. I questioned Orbot on the matter, but he claimed Finitevus was under some unknown stress. From what I’ve seen, the only real reason he should be stressed out is because of all his lack of sleep… maybe I’m missing something?
I need to look into this matter further.

Note to self. Correct the oil filtration module and order some new tektite alloy.
